DESTRUCT

Tonight I booked plane tickets for Vancouver. I leave on the 4th of September and I am so excited to spend an entire week with Erin. Lately i've been trying to pull my brain together to start preparing to move out, it might not start working until after I come home though.

I'm aiming to be living in Toronto by next summer.

Work sucks, I hate my boss and his retarded Newcastle accent.

Aida and I are simply friends now.

I have a ridiculous crush on a girl that I'm trying to remove because I can already see it becoming a repeat of late 2006/early 2007, it's a lot easier than it would have been a few years ago luckily.

I am hoping to go on tour with Fireworks after they record in October, I don't know how likely this is because it might directly interfere with moving out due to me not having a job if it happens.

I feel the need to put myself into severe debt with Futureshop and Long & McQuade by purchasing a new 32gb iPod touch and a Macbook pro with a pro tools package/microphones.

I applied for my first credit card the other day.

I haven't been practicing at all lately and I really need to and I'm having trouble concentrating on anything at all but that might be due to preoccupation by useless thought about what I'm doing with myself. I can't find anyone to play the music I want to play with in the GTA. Who knows, maybe I'll meet wonderful people on the west coast that have the same musical ambition as I do that will persuade me into moving there for a little while.

I quit fast food for the second time in my life (this does not include Quiznos or Subway.)

I'm not your way out.

EVERYTHING IN SIGHT

I'm playing shows almost every weekend, all weekend this month which is good, especially since I feel the need to party again. I'm also going absolutely girl crazy again. They all just need to understand that I'm not going to date them or be emotionally invested/attached to them, 'cause, well, I just don't fucking care. I mean, if they want to hangout and do cool shit I'll make a little effort to be awesome for the duration of the time it works, but at this point I'm more or less a completely solitary person and I'm totally invested in drumming. Although, Erin is the complete exception to all of this, I'm flying to Vancouver to see her in the summer. I just really like Muffins, you know?

The downside about playing all these shows is that I don't have time to do anything at all, I need to book a house show to raise money for Cursed, but I have no idea when I can do it. I think I'm just going to wait until Titan get home from Europe to do it, it's probably going to end up being in mid-July for Dani/me/Tim/whoever else's birthdays are in the beginning of July.

Tour is still potentially happening, but it won't be for the entire duration, it's going to be from July 19th until the bus driver gets fed up with me sleeping on the floor or in the lounge since all the bunks have already been bought out. Hopefully this leads to more opportunities to work as a tech.

I've been trying to run and exercise every day again, so far so good.

I got tattooed on Friday, the girl on the inside of my arm is finished. She has red hair and green eyes.

COOL

I'm not even going to make a record of what happened in the past week, it's not worth it.

So I could potentially be working for Four Year Strong on warped tour this year without getting paid, there are several things that I am going over in my head right now.

The eating glass 7" comes out in June, so Jose is pissed about the fact that I'd be on tour around the same time that we should be playing shows and promoting it, just Jose though, everyone else was more or less indifferent or supportive. We don't have a van, or money, Jeff can't book weekdays off work, he works 2-11 every day so there isn't really a possibility of playing shows on Fridays or weekdays or booking weeks off to travel for that matter.

What if the band wants to keep me as part of the crew WITH pay, I mean, they just bought the bus for warped so they can't afford to pay me now (and I won't be able to get a P2 visa in time, it takes 4 months, gay gay gay) Or I find another band on tour that would hire me as well.

Another point that just came up with Jeff is that I can promote the shit out of us on warped tour, and two months is like 5 shows, we don't play every weekend. Although I'm sure the volume of shows will increase once the record comes out.

I need to talk to Colohan to find out what he thinks, but he's not home until the first week of June and his e-mail has an auto response thing on it.

DEATH APPROACH

Things I've learned recently:

There are still girls that will pretend to be interested in you just because you're nice to them. That's weird.

Teenagers are now weird and socially retarded in my eyes.

Certain people still have a certain status despite certain acts that could be considered rape have been performed by said people.

Girls are idiots.

I did not learn that recently.

I've been hanging out with different girls, going on lots of dates, Some of them don't seem to get that I'm not looking for a girlfriend.

We played an outdoor house show on Saturday, I was drunk and sloppy but I was having so much fun just because I was outside on a super warm night playing drums. I've never done that before. It was killer, I met and talked to a bunch of cute girls. It's too bad about their age though. One of them is ridiculously attractive. I wish I were 18 again so that I wouldn't have a problem with hanging out with 17 year old girls.

I love Ashlee and Dani, I only say that so much because I mean it.

My tooth is fucked, i'm going to the dentist today and i'm going to be in so much more pain.

I have to do my income taxes.

I bought a Terry Bozio Radia bell two weeks ago, it's so much fun to screw around with.

I need another crash and a huge china.

I'm downloading every episode of kids in the hall ever right now, same with essentially every super nintendo game ever.

SUBJECT

SHOWS-

Sunday's show went really really well, cursed were incredible as always and everyone had fun, nothing got broken, nobody fought, it was perfect. Colohan is super nice, our cats are now rivals. I'm going to talk to him on Friday about them playing again later on in the year.

Not this weekend but next, LetXdown, Urban Blight, Eating Glass and Blackbirds will be playing, the next day we have a show in peterbourough with Cursed and Titan

I believe Cheap Tragedies and another band will be playing my house on the May 24 weekend.

Theres a possibility that I will be having The Mongoloids, Kids Like Us and Trapped Under Ice play my house on may 31st, I'll find out in the next couple of weeks.

I think Greg mentioned a show in June too.

GIRLS-

So Thursday a girl that I work with and invited to the show came down and told me that she was going to set me up with her friend. The conversation was weird because I've never had anyone try and set me up with a girl before. Taylor added me to facebook, too much poking turned into her adding me to msn, we get along very well on the internet, we seemed to get along just as well in person though it was for a very short time. We're going on a date on Saturday, I'm taking her to the new high class movie theater and bahn thai.

However, I have just conceived a plan that might be the sweetest thing I've ever done for a girl. I'm introducing her to Owen currently, who just so happens to be playing in Toronto on Thursday, of which my friend Jeff just so happens to be selling two tickets, so I'm going to see if Taylor will be interested in coming with me.

Update:
I am 95% taking Taylor to see Owen depending on her health.

WORK-

I am currently working at what is the best job I've ever had. I work with a bunch of my friends, 70% of the girls that work there are super attractive, I'm not too bad at my job either.

MUSIC-

Far and wide (Derrick of You're my home, Rick Smith, Payson Power and myself) is working super hard and we're all going to start trying to sing soon. We will be recording a demo with Jonah of Fucked Up in June or July (hopefully). I will be buying a van with my tax return next year which should be pretty big.

I'm starting to learn triplet figures over 4. My brain is starting to work more.

BANDS

So I was a little over zealous on the To The Lions thing.

What happened was they asked their friend Teddy to play for them a little while ago and he declined due to the fact that he was super busy with his other band. Now that other band is done and he is playing with them instead of me.

I'm bummed the fuck out about it but what can I do?

I'm just going to have to put everything i've got into this new band.

I love Mike Pitkin, Bryan Kozka, Rob Silefski and Mark (I can't remember Marks last name)

Last night was a perfect mixture of everything that can go bad in a harmless night of drinking as well as everything that can be super fun once all the problems died down.

Dani finished my tattoo.

So, to reiterate; it's getting harder and harder for me to bring myself to a positive level of thinking as far as my entire life is concerned.

Everything i've seriously tried to pursue in the ways of trying to get a job working for bands or playing in bands has fallen through, every fucking thing. It's just getting harder and harder for me to cope with all the let downs I continually encounter. Tonight in the car home Mark, Pitkin and I had a discussion on our mental imbalances from what we talked about it seems all three of us have more or less the same problems. I'm going to try and see a psychologist, get an IQ test done and seriously consider about becoming one of millions of medicated zombies. I'm not sure how much more I can endure.

Last night Dani, Julia and Four Year Strong stayed at my place because they played a show in st catherines and Dani was posting bulletins looking for somewhere to stay for her and 6 of her friends so I obliged.

All the dudes from the band were super nice, everyone got here at like midnight.

I got Dani to start a stick and poke tattoo on my thigh, it's huge and it says "Just give me a fucking body bag!" in traditional lettering. She did as much as she could before everyone had to leave for the show in London. So right now my thigh says "Just give me a fucking"

Just for the record, it's from a Cut the shit song.

I love Dani.

I just called weird girl to ask if she knew where the blood on my sheets/comforter was from and she was drunk and super weird. She kept apologizing really sarcastically and being like "what do you want me to say right now" when I was being completely calm asking her a simple question.
She sounded like she was going to break down and freak the fuck out so I kept telling her the issue is resolved and that no, I am not mad or grossed out and that I was going to bed, so after the 12th time of her saying "What do you want me to say, I'm taking the blame for it it's natural" etc... I just yelled into the phone "OK I'M GOING TO BED NOW, I DON'T CARE, I'M NOT MAD I'M NOT MAD I'M NOT MAD" then I hung up.

I mean, I just didn't know if the blood was from sex or if I had a nosebleed in my sleep.

What a fucking weirdo.

COLD AS LIFE

When I got home from the first To The Lions practice tonight, I was in the best mood that i've been in for well over a year and a half.

I officially play drums in that band and it's totally wicked.

Saturday I will be seeing Buffalo friends, Sick of it all, Wisdom in Chains and Madball, then sleeping in Dani's house with vik and sarah and quite possibly a bunch of buffalonians.

Buffalites?

....

Whatever.

I've been sleeping with a girl lately, she's weird.

TOP SECRET

So, Fuck that tour managing shit.

I'm trying out for To The Lions, Brad seems pretty into the idea so hopefully it works out, I started learning the Baptism of Fire album today.

I have started a new top secret project with Rick Smith, Derrick of You're My Home fame and Payson from nova scotia.

Midwestern late 90's emo ala Texas is the reason/Mineral etc..

This is the band that i'm going to put everything i've got into, so expect some cool shit in the near future.

Also, I love Ashlee.

SOCIETAL INDEPENDENCE

I could potentially be a tour manager for a band that I don't want to talk about.

Pros:

It's sort of a real job
Hanging out with Shane for a month or two
A lot of driving experience
Drum tech experience
South Carolina for two weeks
Free hotel in South Carolina for two weeks
15-30$ payout
I get paid at the end of the tour(or at some other point, I don't remember what Andrew and Shane said.)
I'm good at being civil and taking care of other peoples problems.
Temporary lifestyle change
GPS in the van
Chicks dig tour managers, I think.
If I do well with this, I could potentially get better jobs with better bands.
Nothing tying me down aside from bands.

Cons:

Having to watch horrible bands all the time
The bands reputation leading to bad and potentially serious situations

Well, so far the pros outweigh the cons.

I most definitely would like to do it.

RECK

For the record I, Spencer Arnott, am a complete psychopath.

Today I shaved my head again. I also skated with Jeff and Devin and decided that I officially have no interest in skateboarding anymore.

Prior to that I stopped by Adecco for a second to try and get a job, i'm supposed to come back tomorrow at 2pm with my resume to fill out paper work, have my background checked, etc.. for two hours.

I've been completely self destructive in the past two months.

I started talking to Tricia again and within 5 days i've already decided to stop entirely. I like talking on the phone with Erin, hopefully I will see her on tour next year.
She's like the secondary Ashlee sort of, in the sense that whatever problems I talk to Ashlee about, I talk to Erin about as well.

I'm going to work at UPS for 10.50 an hour for a while, i'll have my drums paid off, new jeans, my own food supply, and a new working record player in a month and a half.

Maybe even a real social life.

Eating Glass and Los Locos are recording this month with Jay O'young.

Cool.
